Lace is the one fabric in our range that changes what the scrunchie is for. The Alina is less about hiding the hair tie and more about it being seen — an open, textured trim around a bun that works for weddings, functions and evenings out.

Underneath the lace, construction is identical to the rest of our XXL range: a fabric-wrapped elastic core with the full oversized gather, so it holds thick hair properly rather than just looking the part.

FAQs

No - Alina is made in XXL only. The open lace weave needs the larger gather to hold its shape and fill out properly, so a Mini or Classic in this fabric would not sit well. If you want lace in a smaller size, contact us and we will tell you what is coming.

Hand wash gently in cool water. Never machine wash - the open weave snags easily. Dry flat, and store it away from velcro, zips and jewellery, which catch the lace and pull threads.

We would keep it for occasions. Lace is soft against the hair, but the open weave snags more readily than a closed fabric, so daily wear on a wrist or in a bag will shorten its life. For everyday use, georgette or polyester holds up far better.
